Data Protection

The Information I hold and where it is obtained from:

Julia Young counselling service may have your email address on computer, however there are systems in place to protect this information to the best of our ability.

Sharing information:

Nothing is shared with any outside agency.  The only exceptions to this are where there is a breach/proposed breach of the Child Protection Procedure disclosed by you, acts of terrorism, any issues relating to money laundering or if information is subpoenaed by a court of law.  Alternatively, if you have been referred to Julia Young Counselling Service by an outside agency, we may be required to provide information and updates using secure systems to that organisation.  This will only happen with your consent obtained during the initial interview.

With the exception of the above, if at any time you would like information we hold to be removed/deleted please let us know.  Julia Young Counselling Service does try to ensure any messages you have sent and replies, are deleted as soon as possible.

Julia Young Counselling Service holds no client details on mobile phones, and again will delete messages received and sent as soon as possible.

About your information:

During our initial meeting Julia will handwrite details that you share; none of this information is placed on a computer.

Consent:

If Julia Young Counselling Service need to contact you it is usually regarding an appointment and will normally be via text.  During the initial interview Julia will always ask what method of contact you prefer i.e. text/email.  Again, if you do not wish to be contacted by email, text or phone, that is fine and will either be established during the initial session or you can raise this at a later date if you change your mind.

If you have any concerns regarding the data protection information held, do please speak to Julia Young in the first Instance.  If however she is unable to help for some reason you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
